NNPCL Reduces Petrol Price to ₦1,325 Per Litre After Dangote Refinery’s Cut

NNPCL Reduces Petrol Price to ₦1,325 Per Litre After Dangote Refinery’s Cut
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced its petrol pump price at selected filling stations in Abuja.
A market survey by Daily Post on Wednesday showed that the company now sells petrol at ₦1,325 per litre.
The new price represents a reduction of between ₦45 and ₦80 from the previous range of ₦1,370 to ₦1,405 per litre.
The adjustment comes after Dangote Refinery reduced its petrol gantry price to ₦1,215 per litre.
NNPCL Implements New Petrol Price in Abuja
According to the report, the new price has taken effect at NNPCL filling stations in Gwarimpa and along the Kubwa Expressway.
A fuel attendant at one of the company’s outlets confirmed the reduction.
She told Daily Post that the pump price was adjusted downward on Wednesday afternoon.
The latest development follows expectations that filling stations would reduce their prices after Dangote Refinery’s wholesale price adjustment.
Dangote Refinery’s Price Cut Triggers Market Response
Dangote Refinery recently reduced its petrol gantry price to ₦1,215 per litre.
The adjustment prompted expectations of lower pump prices across Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector.
On November 2, Daily Post reported that managers at NNPCL and MRS filling stations expected their outlets to reduce prices.
The President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Abubakar Maigandi, also said marketers would lower their prices after receiving petrol at the revised rate.
Petrol Prices May Differ Across Locations
Although NNPCL has reduced its price at some Abuja outlets, the new rate does not automatically apply to every filling station nationwide.
Retail prices can vary depending on supply costs, transportation expenses and individual marketers’ pricing decisions.
Motorists will therefore need to check the prices at nearby filling stations before buying petrol.
The latest reduction offers some relief to motorists in areas where NNPCL has implemented the new rate.
